After a long commute into NYC around noon, I started the day off like any other day, at Times Square of course. I had a quick lunch at McDonalds (I know, terrible food, but could you resist a two story McDonald's in Times Square? I doubt it :P), and then walked around and saw some of the other stores around Times Square, like the three story M&M's wonderland, and the Hershey store.
Next, on my way to Central Park, a trip to the Apple store was a must. Descending from the spiral staircase inside a giant glass cube, I entered a crowded oasis of Apple products, teeming with eager foreigners who were just discovering that iPhones wouldn't get coverage in their respective countries. Dragging myself away from the gadgetry, it was a short walk from there to Central Park.
Central Park was really nice, and provided an excellent means to get away from the noise and commotion of the city. I walked around there for a while, making it all the way up to Belvedere Castle, which is around 79th Street.
Nearing dusk, I headed back down south to Rockefeller Plaza, and missed the tour of NBC studios by 20 minutes. I'll have to save that for another time. Then I grabbed some Chinese and, when it got dark, headed down to check out Times Square at night. It was such a dazzling display of lights that I completely missed the ads. Good thing I took pictures :).
Speaking of pictures, you too can enjoy central park and the dazzling Times Square on my Flickr page and on my Facebook page, I just finished uploading everything from today.
Tomorrow I'm taking a day off from sightseeing and going fishing, but don't worry, I'll be dragging my sore feet across the streets of NYC before you know it. Maybe I'll make up a wildly fictional blog post for tomorrow to see if you're paying attention ;)
Goodnight!
Peace,
-Adam
